Presents its 

Annual Charity Clay Sport Shooting Event

Saturday, February 14, 2026

Registration:  9:00am

Event Start Time: 10:00am

 

Location:  American Shooting Center

16500 Westheimer Parkway, Houston, TX 77082

Cost is $150 per person or $750 for a team of 5 (if paid by 1/16/26) or $175 per person or $875 (if paid after 1/16/26) and includes 50 targets at a reserved private 10-station course (shooter shoots alternate 6/4 targets at each of the 10 stations).   Two courses this year for faster play!
Non-Shooter Lunch is $30.00 per person.

  • Ammo-appropriate 12 gauge or 20 gauge
  • Eye & ear protection - yours to keep afterwards
  • Experienced Safety Officers for each group
  • Scoring & computerized printout of scores
  • Loaner guns available at no cost - 1 gun per gauge per team (or you may bring your own)
  • Light Breakfast Snacks provided before the tournament

Sporting Clays is an exciting form of clay pigeon shooting, commonly described as “golf with a shotgun.” It involves shooting clay targets at multiple locations (called stations).  The original idea behind sporting clays was to create an experience that closely reflects actual hunting conditions. 

 

 

ZCHECF is a 501c(3) organization.

Proceeds to benefit local Zonta scholarships for young women in high school and university,

The Zonta Club of Houston (ZCH) is part of Zonta International which was founded in 1919 in Buffalo, NY.  Today, Zonta International is a global organization of nearly 30,000 members in over 1,200 Zonta clubs in 62 countries.  See Zonta History for more information.

 

Mission:  Zonta International is a leading global organization of individuals working together to build a better world for women and girls.


Vision: 
Zonta International envisions a world in which women's rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential.  In such a world, women have access to all resources and are represented in decision making positions on an equal basis with men.  In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence.

 

ZCH also has a 501(c)(3) organization: the ZCHECF.  The fund's primary purpose is to provide scholarships and fund service projects that advance the status of women in the greater Houston area as well as globally through contributions to the Zonta International Foundation (ZIF).  For more information on our local service projects, scholarships and advocacy, please see "What We Do" on the menu bar.

Young Women in Leadership (YWIL) Award

Zonta Young Women in Leadership Award (formerly the Young Women in Public Affairs Award) recognizes young women, ages 16-19, for demonstrating leadership skills and commitment to public service and civic causes, and encourages them to continue their participation in public and political life.

Since 1990, Zonta has given 1,165 awards, totaling US$1,858,750 to 993 young women from 60 countries.

The program operates at the Zonta club, district and international levels. Zonta International offers 37 international awards of US$5,000. Each district may submit one applicant for consideration for an international scholarship. The five largest districts may submit a second applicant for a total of two applicants.  


The Zonta Club of Houston awards one applicant, selected during March, with $2,000.00 and submits that application to District 10. If selected as the top applicant in District 10 the applicant will also receive $5,000.00 from Zonta International.

Women in STEM Award

The Zonta Women in STEM Award uplifts innovation and celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of women between 18-35 years of age in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields and acknowledge their groundbreaking research, pioneering discoveries, and/or exemplary contributions to advancing knowledge and innovation in a STEM field. By recognizing and supporting these exceptional women, Zonta aims to inspire future generations and foster inclusivity and diversity in the world of STEM.

The Women in STEM Award program operates at the club ($1250 award), district ($1000 award), and international ($10,000) levels of Zonta International. If you are selected by the club, your application is placed in competition at the next level (district) and so forth.

Women in Business Leadership Award

The first Women in Business scholarship (now award) was awarded in 1998 to women pursuing degrees in business leading to a business management career. The program ultimately seeks to influence business decisions that positively affect women by increasing the number of women in executive positions in the field of business management.

The Women in Business Leadership Award program operates at the club ($1250 award), district ($1000 award), and international ($10,000) levels of Zonta International. If you are selected by the club, your application is placed in competition at the next level (district) and so forth.
